Colombo, Oct. 21 (Daily Mirror) - SriLankan Airlines has denied media reports and public statements claiming that its information technology (IT) systems had been hacked or compromised, insisting that its systems were not under the control of hackers.
In a statement, the airline said the allegations stemmed from a cyber-related claim published externally on June 29, 2026.
Upon becoming aware of the claim, the airline immediately conducted investigations, technical assessments and precautionary measures.
According to the findings, no unauthorised access to its internal IT environment or operational systems, compromise of information assets, unauthorised data extraction or disruption to its services was established.
The airline said its systems and services, including email facilities, had continued to operate without interruption, with no impact on operations or service continuity.
It also confirmed that it had received no ransom demand from the alleged party, whether in Bitcoin, US dollars or any other form, and that no ransom-related negotiations had taken place.
SriLankan Airlines therefore rejected allegations that its systems had been taken over by hackers or remained under their control.
The airline reiterated its commitment to protecting its information systems and ensuring the continued reliability of services for passengers, employees and business partners.

Don't people verify the information with the victim before making a public claim on their behalf? The fact that the airline took so long to refute to the claim is also astounding!

You think they will admit the truth, like Vitz car at 12 Lakhs.

Wasn't it obvious people? Dayasiri just tried to create a nonexistent issue and suggested a US IT security vendor as a solution for reasons he has been famous for. To put it mildly, his history has always tainted and old habits die hard.
