MP Dayasiri Jayasekara told Parliament today (20) that SriLankan Airlines’ computer software system had fallen under the control of hackers.

The MP said the hackers had announced that they had taken control of the airline’s system and that email accounts belonging to airline employees had also been targeted in cyberattacks.

Mr Jayasekara urged the government to accept the assistance offered by the US Government to help recover the airline’s computer system from the hackers.

However, this report does not cite any official confirmation from SriLankan Airlines or the Government that the airline’s system has fallen under the control of hackers.
