Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage capped the men’s javelin title at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, Hungary, featuring some of the world’s finest athletes.

He secured the victory with a throw of 91.09 m.

This marks another significant milestone in Rumesh’s outstanding winning run in 2026.

He captured global attention on June 04, 2026, by setting a record of 92.62 m at the Diamond League meet in Rome.

At the time, it was the best performance in the world in 2026 and the eighth-best throw in the history of the men’s javelin.
