From beaches and wildlife encounters to historic landmarks and city attractions, Sri Lanka offers travellers a variety of experiences. Taj Bentota Resort & Spa and Taj Samudra, Colombo, offer two stays that let visitors discover different sides of the island.

Located along the coast, Taj Bentota Resort & Spa offers Indian Ocean views and a setting shaped by the surrounding landscape. The resort’s red-tiled roofs and open terraces draw inspiration from the island’s colonial-era architecture.

Dining options include Oriental Pavilion, which serves Chinese cuisine overlooking the ocean, and S.H.A.C.K., offering seafood dinners. The Palms serves poolside meals, while Tease pairs cocktails with music in a bar-and-lounge setting.

Guests can explore attractions around Bentota, including the Kosgoda turtle conservation project and the historic Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other experiences include a boat safari on the Madu River, whale and dolphin watching along the southern coast, and visits to local handicraft shops and tea stores.

In Colombo, the Samudra property overlooks Galle Face Green. Set amid 11 acres of landscaped gardens, the hotel offers easy access to the city’s shopping, cultural and historical attractions. Visitors can browse local markets selling gems, tea, spices and handicrafts, and explore landmarks such as the National Museum, home to collections of historical artefacts.

The hotel’s dining venues include Golden Dragon, serving Sichuan cuisine ; Navratna, offering Mughlai dishes; and YUMI, featuring sushi, sashimi, and live cooking. The Lattice lobby lounge serves Sri Lankan teas and coffees, while Ports of Call offers Sri Lankan specialities and international dishes.

Guests can also take a walk along Galle Face Green or visit the National Museum to learn about the country’s history and heritage.

Guests booking suites at both properties can avail the year-round Suite Surprises offer. The package includes 15% savings on suite stays, daily breakfast, early check-in, access to the Club Lounge and airport transfers.
